A lot of my writing concerns pubs which are no longer in existence. This story involves a pub which never existed...or did it?

David, the link is now working. What a lovely story you wrote. I really got the feeling of going to the various pubs the protagonist went to. Where is Beverley in the UK? The reason why I ask is that I live in the North Shore of Boston & the town next to mine is Beverly. There's also an Ipswitch, Gloucester, and an Essex over here.Finally, I'm currently reading a great book called The Club about Johnson & Boswell & their circle of friends, including Joshua Reynolds, Adam Smith, Edward Gibbon & other worthies. Beverley is in East Yorkshire. The closest city is the port of Hull, but we're also near to York and Leeds.
I think maybe lots of people named places on your side of the Atlantic after places they missed back at home.
