Remember how Martin was considerate enough to send a supply of books to a US middleman so as to save us Yank customers some shipping costs? My copy arrived from Florida and I was delighted to see that it was sent by 'Electric Phantom'. Now that would be meaningless to 99.99% of the population, but we cognoscenti know that it signifies the involvement of the Guv's sometime collaborator, the incredible and indescribable Petunia-Liebling MacPumpkin! I like to imagine she packed and addressed the parcel. To refresh your memories, here's a quite recent video from her, still favoring that Newell-ian top hat!
Related topic - GLE vs GMF Here's a song by a another fellow with a high opinion of himself. He can't be the Greatest Living Englishman as he's from Michigan, but he's carved out his own identity. He's also corralled Sinead O'Connor and her daughter as backup singers! (Notice how Irish TV allows saltier language than does American TV)

Yes, I was also surprised to see that my copy of Martin's book came from the great Phantom of Florida. Last year I bought a copy of Petunia's legendary album Fish Drive Edsels and I don't think I've been the same since. There is something compelling about how totally immersive and bizarre the whole McPumpkin experience is, from the zombified bagboy to the demented, chanting vegetables. Who needs LSD when you've got this?

OK, 99.98% of the population! Hanging out with Aug Stone and buying MacPumpkin albums? You, sir, are the most interesting man in the world.
Some YouTuber left a long-winded and excessively erudite comment on that 'Bright Light City' video. Hard to say whether he was sincere or taking the piss, but it drew out a fascinating reply from the artist - "I try my best to bring into reality what is in my head. It is with the upmost sincerity!" That is a head like no other.

Ha! I'm more often described as "awkward" rather than "interesting," unfortunately. Never have tried LSD, though -- imagine doing that AND listening to McPumpkin(!).
